About the Artist
Biography.
Ruskin Brown works with analogue film to produce photographs of sustained quiet intensity. His practice moves between portraiture, landscape, and the incidental — finding in each a quality of attention that digital image-making rarely sustains. Brown's photographs resist easy categorisation: they are neither documentary nor purely formal, but occupy a considered space between. He lives and works in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
